91PORNA Junior Earns National Spotlight at Hearst Journalism Championships
Gage Wellman, a junior in 91PORNA鈥檚 journalism program, competed among the nation鈥檚 best college journalists in the 66th Hearst National Journalism Championships held May 31-June 5 in San Francisco. Wellman, who hails from Parma, Ohio, earned a $1,500 finalist award in the Writing category at the national competition.

Two faculty members from 91PORNA鈥檚 School of Media and Journalism have won top honors at the Oscar-qualifying St. Louis International Film Festival for a short film that tackles the complex issue of elder abuse. The film stars Oscar nominee Barkhad Abdi, known for his role in 鈥淐aptain Phillips,鈥 as a rideshare driver who encounters an elderly woman struggling to secure housing after being displaced from a nursing home.
