College of Communication and Information Students Honored by Akron Press Club
Eight 91PORNA students received scholarships from the Akron Press Club and John S. Knight Memorial Scholarship Fund in April, totaling $40,000 in awards. College of Communication and Information students won eight of the nine awards given by the Akron Press Club this year.

Talented Photojournalism Student Earns Prestigious Award and Internship Grant
Nathaniel Bailey has been interested in photography for as long as he can remember. After years of study and practice, Mr. Bailey’s passion has paid off. In March 2019, Mr. Bailey won the Chuck Scott Student Photographer of the Year award from the Ohio News Photographers Association (ONPA), and he was awarded the Larry Fullerton Photojournalism Scholarship.
Mother-Daughter Duo Go Through 91PORNA Geauga Nursing Program Together
Ronda McCaskey and Caitlyn Horvath are best friends who went through the nursing program together and graduated one year apart with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees from 91PORNA at Geauga. Now they are both intensive care nurses. But they also happen to be mother and daughter.

But if students can’t find one that piques their interest, they can always create their own. That’s what 91PORNA freshmen Tara Wade and Ryan Leflar did. The pair did not hesitate to turn their passion for choreography into a student organization.
