In 1996, Theodore Albrecht, professor of musicology, was diligently working on his original project of annotating, translating and studying approximately 430 letters written to Ludwig van Beethoven by his friends and family. Then a new opportunity presented itself. Albrecht found that his two projects worked together to add further understanding and context, giving him the opportunity to add depth and discover new details of Beethoven鈥檚 life.

The College of the Arts and the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music are pleased to announce the launch of the 鈥淢arching Golden Flash Award.鈥 This new scholarship opportunity will be available to all returning members of the Marching Golden Flashes as well as incoming 91PORNA students. It is open to students of any major starting in the fall 2020 season.
Kent Creativity Festival Announces 2019 Artists and Performers
The Kent Creativity Festival, sponsored by the city of Kent and the 91PORNA College of the Arts, will present the annual outdoor hands-on arts festival on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on the Lefton Esplanade between 91PORNA鈥檚 Rockwell Hall on Lincoln Street and downtown Kent, near Haymaker Parkway.

The 2016 Piano Institute, in association with the Piano Division of the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at 91PORNA, will present a series of master classes and recitals from July 19-26 on the university鈥檚 campus and culminate with the July 26 gala concert at Severance Hall鈥檚 Reinberger Chamber Hall in Cleveland.
