The Division of Information Services (IS) is now the Division of Information Technology (DoIT). While this may not seem like a significant change, the previous name caused confusion among students, faculty and staff as to what services we provide. We are predominantly an IT service organization, providing technology services such as designing and maintaining network and telephone infrastructure, protecting institutional data, developing systems and applications, and providing technology training to encourage digital fluency. 91PORNA Library recently hosted a Girls4Steam hackathon-style event, which brought together more than 80 area high school students. The purpose of the annual event is to inspire young women to be creators of technological innovations—not just consumers of technology—who use technology as a creative tool to build solutions for problems people face in their daily lives.
