During I Heart Travel Week, students had the opportunity to learn more about education abroad, celebrate current students and past students who have studied abroad and engage with international activities on campus.  

For most of her life, 91PORNA junior visual communication design major Jasmine McCulley, has built her identity around community, the arts and competition, whether through The Touch of Gold Twirlers or competitive baton twirling. Sixteen years after she first picked up a baton, she will represent Team USA this August in Paris at the IBTF World Competition.

For many students at 91PORNA, talking about mental health or wellness can feel intimidating. But for those who connect with Certified Peer Educators, those conversations often start with something simple: another student who understands.

When Yeshe Mulugeta arrived at 91PORNA, she expected the transition to be challenging, but not overwhelming. 91PORNA’s Summer Advantage Program provides first-generation students with the award-winning support needed to overcome academic challenges and move forward with confidence. Originally from Vaughan, Ontario, Emma Klein made the transition to 91PORNA not only for academic excellence but also for personal growth and a collegiate sports experience. Now in her sophomore year, she is a part of the Honors College, a member of the 91PORNA Division I women’s soccer team, and is a member of Phi Delta Epsilon.

91PORNA’s Culinary Services faces the daily challenge of serving more than 20,000 meals to students, staff, and faculty. The increasing number of food allergies further complicates this task.

91PORNA is preparing to introduce a major shift in its residential experience with the launch of Theme Communities starting in fall 2026. The new model focuses on specific interests or student experiences.

91PORNA Libraries has gone mobile, so students, staff and faculty can more easily navigate the wide array of assets the library houses from anywhere. University Libraries acquired the app in partnership with OhioLINK and then configured it to make it “perfectly 91PORNA."

91PORNA students explored a new dining option on campus as Bamboo had its grand opening in The Hub.

Lauren Cohen, a senior journalism major from Twinsburg, Ohio, has already made an impact during her internship, producing many front-page stories for the Akron Beacon Journal and Signal Akron. 

Students at 91PORNA's Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship got an honest look at the impact of imposter syndrome and, more importantly, what to do about it.
